Water Purification Plant installed at Jayanthipura Junior School. It was handed over to the students by the Director General Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama and the President of CSD Seva Vanitha unit Mrs. Lakshmi Pallegama on 30th September 2017

The Civil Security Department, celebrated the ‘Civil Defence Day’ for the third time on 13th September 2017. It coincided with a series of events conducted under the patronage of the Director General, Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama and Mrs. Lakshmi Pallegama.

The Flag Blessing Ceremony at Sri Maha Bodhiya in Anuradhapura was conducted in a befitting manner with the participation of the Atamasthanadipathi Ven. Pallegama Siriniwasa at 0800 on 12th September.

The War Heroes Ceremony conducted in honor of 545 CSD personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice took place at the Monument in Mihintale. This preceded a Guard of Honor to the Director General.This was followed by Heel Dhane at Mihinthale.

The Additional Director General, Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando, Directors, Commanding Officers and Next of Kin of the War Heroes participated in these events.

The Karate Championships of the CSD for the year 2017 was worked out 28th September 2017 in Colombo Public Library Auditorium. Championship won the Kilinochchi Battalion. 2nd place won Wennawatta and Plonnaruwa Battalions. Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama, Director General of the Civil Security Department graced the finals as the Chief Guest.

The Life Serving Championships of the CSD for the year 2017 was worked out from 22th to 26th August 2017 in Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium and Mount Lavinia Beach. Men’s and Women’s   Championship won the Anuradhapura Battalion. Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama, Director General of the Civil Security Department graced the finals as the Chief Guest.
